Our Story

Founded by Eshna Sen, a renowned musician and educator, Shilpi-E-Yog is the culmination of a lifelong passion for music and teaching. Our team of experienced gurus is committed to helping students develop their vocal skills, expand their musical knowledge, and grow as artists.

Our Mentors

Meet our vocal mentor and founder - Eshna Sen

Eshna Sen, was born on the 24th November,1985 and was brought up in Singhabari of Bhawanipur, a noble family of South kolkata. Her Grand father Lt. Shri Sudhangshu Shekhar Sinha was a Classical singer, amongst the renowned artists of his generation who regularly had musical β€˜baithak’ at Singhabari premises. Being from a musical family Eshna started taking formal musical training when she was only 5 yrs. She started learning music from Sourabh Music Academy of Bhawanipur under Smt. Laxmi Mazumder. After that she started learning in Sangeet Research Academy under Pandit Jyoti Goho. Later she has learnt kheyal from Smt. Saswati Chowdhury (SRA SCHOLAR). She has also learnt Rabindrasangeet from Shri. Abhirup GuhaThakurta and Shri. Alak Roy Chowdhury. In 2012 she Released a duet album on Rabindrasangeet from Mint Music and Entertainments. She has studied Bachelors in Vocal music(B.A.) and Masters in Rabindrasangeet(M.A.) from Rabindrabharti University.

Meet our Tabla Mentor - Dhiraj Banik

Dhiraj Banik is a talented Tabla player and music teacher, dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Indian classical music. His main subject is Tabla, which he has studied under the able guidance of his revered teacher, Rothindra Nath Dhar, a student of the famous Pandit Kanai Dutt of the Ajrarra Gharana.

With a strong foundation in the traditional techniques of Tabla playing, he also had the opportunity to learn and play other percussion instruments such as Khol, Bangla Dhol, and Madol. His musical journey began in 2007, and has been fortunate enough to have had the chance to share his knowledge and skills with others as a music teacher at Sir Biman Mukhopadhyay’s Music School.

In addition to his teaching experience, he has also completed a diploma in music from Bangiyo Sangeet Porisad, further solidifying his expertise in the field. He is passionate about music and dedicated to continuing the legacy of his gharana.
